Shooting in the higher-quality HQ recording mode, a single 16 GB SxS PRO card will hold 50 minutes of footage, or a total of 100 minutes using both card slots on the camcorder. Two 16 GB cards allow for 140 minutes of recording time in the lower-quality SP mode. A mixture of different recording modes can be used on a single card and when one card in the camcorder becomes full, the automatic switchover to the second card is a seamless operation. A card in one slot can be formatted while a card in the other slot is simultaneously being recorded to or played back from.
